Becoming an adolescent and/or young adult can be all-encompassing; empowering with newly found independence, exciting with new opportunities and future goals, yet stressful and challenging with varying distractions and pressures.
Challenges may arise with relationships with friends, school, and family that can create a negative impact on one's being.
An adolescent and/or young adult may encounter any of the following:
Lack of Self-Worth & Confidence
Negative Body Image
Challenging Relationships with Others
Bullying
Online Internet Safety Concerns
Self-Harm & Suicidal Ideation
Substance Use
Performance Anxiety
Mood Changes
Sexuality Exploration
Post Secondary Pressures
Difficulties with Decision Making
Counselling aims to provide a safe and comfortable place to explore and discuss any of these concerns while creating individualized strategies and tools to navigate them.
