Parental Support
Parenting: the dedication, love, hard work and supportiveness of raising a child.
It's not easy.
Support can be beneficial to navigate the challenges, fatigue, and work-life balance while raising a child.
Parental Burnout is the physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion from prolonged stress of parenting.
A parent can experience an overwhelming amount of exhaustion, emotional withdrawal from your children, and a constant feeling of survival mode. Parents of children with complex support needs may experience higher amounts of parental burnout.
A parent may experience burnout based on different factors:
Employment
Number of children
Developmental Stage
A child's diagonsis and/or disorder
Access to support
A child's needs
Perfectionism
Counselling can support and navigate concerns around self-esteem and positive thinking, self-compassion, regulating emotions, and self-care plans.
